Getting Started with WVUP: OLSIS and WVUP Email:
  Now that you are a WVUP Student, it is important to familiarize yourself with WVUP Online Systems that you will need to access.
  Step #1: Signing into OLSIS

OLSIS (Online Student Information System) contains all of your important information related to WVUP. If you have applied for Financial Aid, you will access OLSIS to view your information. You will also use OLSIS to register or drop classes.

o   To log into OLSIS, you will use your WVUP Student ID Number and
          your PIN.

                        If you are unable to sign in to OLSIS, you can submit a request to the IT Online Help Desk
                        or call 304 - 424 - 8296.

Step #2: Signing into WVUP Email

Even though you may have your own personal email account, all important documentation from WVUP will be sent to your WVUP Email account. Once your information has been processed, a WVUP Email address is generated.

Part 1: Finding your WVUP Network ID:

You will use your WVUP Network ID / WVUP Network Password to access your WVUP Email, computers on campus, campus resources and access LearningStudio.

Your username is your WVUP Network ID and your password is your WVUP  Network Password.
( Your WVUP Network ID is NOT your WVUP Student ID. )

Part 2: Setting up your new password.
  • Log in to Self Service using your WVUP Network ID as the username and your birthday as the password (mmddyy)
    If your password does not work, call the IT Help Desk at 304-424-8215
  • Once you are logged in, click on 'Change Password' as the top.
  • Enter your old password in the textbox provided. Then choose a new password following the password guidelines.
                 Important Notes:
                    * Password must be at least 8 characters long
                    * Must Contain at least one uppercase letter
                    * Password must contain at least ONE alphanumeric character (ex. ":","!","+", "?")  OR ONE number                   
                    [Do Not Use the at symbol "@" or an asterisk "*"]
  • Click Submit at the bottom of the page to save your new password. If saved successfully, a confirmation message will appear on the screen.

Part 3: Create a Security Question

Now that you have created a new password. It is important to create a secret question for your account. In the event you forget your password, you can answer a security question to have your password reset for you at any time of day.

  1. At the top, click on Secret Q and A

  2. In the textboxes provided, create a custom question and answer. Make sure it is not something easy to guess or have the question contain the answer.

  3. If successful, you will see a Secret Updated notification under the submit button
    NOTE: If the message says 'Student not found in system', please contact the IT Help Desk at 304-424-8215

Part 4: Log into WVUP Email
  • At the bottom of the page, click on the WVUP Email  link.
  • Use your WVUP Network ID and new password to log into your email.
